Chris Hadfield has given us a new view of science and humanity through his engagement with the world through social media. The cherry on the cake has to be this video recorded on the International Space Station (ISS) and released on 12 May 2013. In is time in space Hadfield has amassed an amazing 966,000 followers on Twitter and released 17 videos on YouTube.
Colonel Hadfield was a member of Expedition 35 and has been Commander of the ISS since March 2013, the first Canadian astronaut to have commanded a spacecraft. He completed his 5 month stay in space and returned to Earth on 14 May 2013. However it is likely that he will ever more be regarded as a star.
