LA CRESCENTA, CA – June 28, 2001 – /Xpress Press/ – La Crescenta-based Maverick Group, Inc. (MGI), has retained Studio City, CA-based NetConstruct, Inc., to architect and build the data infrastructure for its new feature-rich, high-performance global voice and data communication service.

The new network will provide calling card services, least-cost call routing and dial-up Virtual Private Networking (VPN) services to companies that need to maintain strong voice and data connections with key executives and sales staff who could be traveling anywhere in the world.

The selection of NetConstruct to architect the platform is part of MGI’s strategy of ensuring financial strength through a policy of frugal excellence. NetConstruct’s architectures are noted for bringing together multiple disparate systems into an interdependent cooperative whole that delivers extraordinary cost-efficiency and resilience.

NetConstruct founder and CEO Martin Leufray III, a pioneer in the development of bullet-proof, scalable architecture, was a prime architect of DHLNET, the world’s largest private Internet Protocol network, and designed and built EarthLink Network, one of the world’s largest ISPs. In these projects, Leufray’s architecture provided a significant and enduring competitive technological advantage.

MGI has been providing financial and related technology services to major corporations for more than seven years. In 1998, MGI successfully expanded into the development of software that provides mobile executives and sales staffs access to a wide range of company-related management tools, but implementation was hampered by connectivity issues. The new network will enable MGI to ensure the quality of its financial and productivity management services while substantially reducing clients’ telecommunications costs.

“We’re building a world-class global network solution that will save businesses money, improve performance and directly impact the bottom line. Businesses deserve the best service possible, and we’re pleased to have the industry’s top architects helping us put it into place,” said Tony Ciotti, CEO of MGI.

“MGI has demonstrated extraordinary wisdom in their approach to this project,” Leufray said. “Improperly architected networks are fantastically expensive and impossible to manage efficiently. MGI’s network will be rock-solid, efficient, and perfectly positioned to dominate its sector of the market.”
