| Actual size |
The actual size of an object is its measured dimension in reality, as opposed to what is it supposed to be or the dimension that has been allowed for it. For example the actual size of a piece of 4"x2" (100x50mm) timber is actually 3.5"x1.75" (90x45mm), mainly due to shrinkage as the timber which was milled green, has dried out over time. |
