PLANIT: THINK GLOBALLY, ACT GLOBALLYNew business model creates more robust market presence for CAD/CAM software developer
27 June 2007: In December 2006 Planit Holdings began a corporate restructuring which included the move from public to private ownership. This consolidation of resources was the first part of a strategy to move away from the geographic business units that were then in place, and implement a global business model. One of the primary global business units that have now been formed is Planit Metals, which develops, implements and supports a number of highly-respected product brands:
This self-contained business unit gives Planit greater reach, agility and flexibility in meeting market demands, and provides better-focused channel and territory expansion opportunities. Bryan Pryce, CEO of Planit, says that the new corporate model will allow Planit to "maintain its growth both organically and through acquisitions", a process the company has successfully implemented many times in the past. Indeed, Planit is the most rapidly growing CAM software vendor on the basis of revenue, achieving growth in excess of 30% in 2006, and also leads in the number of industrial seats shipped and installed.1 Planit completed the restructuring of its Metals Business in May 2007 with management and staff being completely positioned within the new operating model. Senior management includes:
By leveraging its industry expertise on a global basis, Planit Metals will continue to strengthen its portfolio of focused software solutions, increase market share and, as stated in CIMdata's May 2007 Market Assessment, be "a force to be reckoned with." About Planit Planit is the world's largest supplier of design and manufacturing software for the engineering, woodworking and stone-cutting industries, with more than 85,000 industrial seats installed at thousands of customer sites around the globe. The company's Alphacam, Cabinet Vision, Cabnetware, EdgeCAM, Jobshop and Radan solutions are best-in-class within their respective markets, providing customers with products and services to improve the productivity of their machine tools, shorten design and manufacturing time, optimise material usage, and deliver high quality goods and services to their customers.
