MILAN, Italy, June 6 /PRNewswire/ -- think3, a leading supplier of solutions for product development and innovation, has announced the availability - for all its users and with no need for additional modules - of a direct link between thinkdesign, its 3D modelling environment, and the ANSYS(R) Workbench(TM) analysis solution.

This new integration, released with the 2007.1 version of thinkdesign, means that solid models obtained in the think3 3D environment can be transferred directly to the ANSYS Workbench simulation environment.

Linking the two solutions makes it possible to combine think3's CAD tool - familiar to mechanical designers, with the powerful analysis functions of ANSYS software - extremely useful to engineers looking for answers from the simulation front.

"This link with think3's thinkdesign highlights the flexibility of the ANSYS Workbench environment," said Brian Drew, Vice President at ANSYS, Inc. "The focus of ANSYS Workbench is to facilitate 'simulation-led development,' and we greatly value think3's effort to ensure a high degree of interoperability between their design software and our simulation solution."

The match between the two solutions also benefits from associativity links. They make it possible to update a FEM scenario after a CAD modification while maintaining constraints and loads, and to regenerate a thinkdesign three-dimensional geometry after an optimization cycle using the ANSYS Workbench simulation environment and the ANSYS solver.

This new integration reinforces think3's position as a supplier of complete solutions that satisfy the needs of the entire product development cycle.
