Fluor Corporation Selects AVEVA VNET
Cambridge, England, February 21, 2007 - AVEVA (LSE:AVV), a leading provider of plant design and engineering lifecycle solutions, today announced that Fluor Corporation has selected AVEVAs VNET solution to manage the information and handover requirements of a major engineering project in Africa. VNET is an application-independent, web-enabled platform for the integration and collaboration of asset information. Fluor Corporation, one of the world's largest publicly owned engineering, procurement, construction, and maintenance services companies, selected AVEVA VNET because of its ability to deliver a quick and efficient implementation and the immediate realization of business benefits to the project. Alex Giles, Project IM Lead of Fluor Corporation commented: "Following an evaluation of various products, we identified a number of key benefits that AVEVA VNET provides. These included delivering Seamless Handover from multiple data sources where the handover requirements are governed by detailed client requirements, as well as improving the quality and organization of engineering data, resulting in faster, more intuitive access to information. In turn, this will reduce search time, avoid inconsistencies and improve the coordination of key functions, delivering increased productivity and efficiency in project execution and handover. "A major benefit for us is the short implementation timeframe which will ensure early operational availability and provide immediate benefits to the project schedule." Richard Longdon, CEO of AVEVA commented: "We're delighted to be working with Fluor. Amongst other business advantages, the AVEVA VNET system offers Fluor Corporation the ability to provide earlier visibility of engineering information to the customer through a continuous handover process greatly reducing the cost of handover and helping de-risk the plant operation." AVEVA VNET is an application-independent, web-enabled platform for the integration and collaboration of asset information. Schematics, 3D models, real-time operational data, documents and data from any application across the entire asset life-cycle can be accessed and navigated in context. By making the information contained within asset data work harder, VNET delivers the most comprehensive digital profile of a physical asset.
