JetStream v5 Introduces Advanced Rendering Features From LightWork Design

LightWorks gives JetStream Presenter users stunning visualisation capabilities!

SHEFFIELD, UK (8 May 2006) - LightWork Design, the world's leading supplier of rendering solutions for developers of advanced 3D computer graphics software, is pleased to announce that the latest release of Jetstream v5 from NavisWorks, includes a number of advanced rendering features from LightWork Design.

JetStream Presenter is a plug-in for Roamer, the core of the JetStream v5 design review solution. It adds the facility to quickly and easily enhance the realism of project models with materials, lighting and textures, allowing even non-technical users to create walkthroughs and photorealistic images that communicate design intent to aid understanding, decision-making, and ultimately design quality.

JetStream Presenter uses the LightWorks rendering engine and this latest release integrates LightWorks version 7.5, providing users with even greater ease-of-use, as well as the ability to create stunning visuals. Key advancements now incorporated within JetStream Presenter concentrate on ease-of-use and high quality visualisations, and include:

Image Based Lighting The Image Based Lighting incorporated within the LightWorks Advanced Lighting product uses high dynamic range images (HDRIs) as a light source during rendering, enabling users to create even more accurate images with significantly less effort. This means that there is no longer a need to set up multiple lights sources in order to get accurate lights and shadows. Instead HDRIs can now be used to light the scenes and can simply be mapped around an image in JetStream Presenter with just 2 drag and drops, to produce extremely realistic results.

Environment Shaders Environment shaders provide the ability to place a design within a real- world environment, creating a greater feeling of realism and offering improved navigation. LightWorks provides a seamless integration to support environment reflectance in both real-time and software rendering, introducing a simple to use and effective means for JetStream Presenter users to incorporate real-time reflections within their scenes.

Support for RPC Content LightWorks helps users communicate their designs to clients, by giving them the power to add photorealistic RPC people, trees and objects, that are viewable from different angles and can be animated. JetStream v5 Presenter has integrated the RPC-Enabled functionality found within the LightWorks Architectural Toolbox product so that RPC Content can now be added to JetStream v5 designs, in real-time to further enhance the level of photorealistic output achieved by users.
