UGS Award Adds Momentum for PLM in Australasia

Sydney, Australia - 18 April 2006 -- Australia's product lifecycle management (PLM) specialist, plm, says it has gained greater momentum in Australian for top level PLM solutions following the recent recognition of UGS by the Frost & Sullivan Product Lifecycle Management Company of the Year Award in the USA.

plm is the exclusive distributor for many of the UGS PLM products in the Australasia region (including the Teamcenter suite, Velocity and NX).

The award recognizes UGS' operational excellence including business development and competitive strategy as well as 'outstanding management, consistent growth and positive social and economic impact on local and national communities and customers'.

Frost & Sullivan is a global growth consulting company. The Company of the Year Award is presented annually to the solutions company that has demonstrated excellence in all operations.

Director of Australia-based plm, Mr Dennis Colusso, says the technological strides made by UGS have been very significant in increasing the scope for companies of all sizes to invest in software that manages product lifecycles, design, and business processes - all the way from design and procurement through manufacture and onto dispatch.

The award recipient also must demonstrate superior market growth skills through significant gains in the market and must take advantage of market changes through the execution of innovative strategies within the existing competitive landscape.

Frost & Sullivan's process includes interviews with all the market participants, customers and suppliers, along with extensive secondary and technology research. The companies' efforts are then analyzed based on the number of new customers, new segments and commitment to business expansion coupled with market growth. Industry participants are then ranked based on the predetermined measurement criteria.
