Chief Architect Student Takes 1st Place

Concord NH, April 4, 2006 � When Vicky Carter, the Drafting Instructor at Hart County High School in Hart County GA, purchased Chief Architect 10 in early January, the regional SkillsUSA competition for Architectural Drafting was a short six weeks away.

Junior Christy Seerley, wanted to compete in the competition, but had never used the Chief Architect software before. Through a combination of Classroom time using the software, the TEC textbooks and Chief Architect video training, six weeks was enough time for Miss Seerley to learn the program well enough to use it to win the regional SkillsUSA competition for Architectural Drafting.

�Seventeen schools were competing in the regional SkillsUSA Competition and Christy placed 1st in the Architectural drafting division.� Says Ms. Carter, �Christy had only been working with this software for 6 weeks and beat contestants that had won in prior years. We are very pleased with her success and look forward to the state finals at the end of April.�

The experience has helped Miss Seerley decide on a career path. �Chief Architect has allowed me to significantly expand my horizons as a drafting student,� said Miss Seerley. �I�m planning to attend Georgia Tech to study Architecture and possibly continue my education at Savannah College of Art and Design to pursue an Interior Design degree.�
