Robobat Releases Free CIS/2 Translator for Autodesk Revit Structure

Expands Interchange Options for Structural Engineers doing Building Information Modeling

10 Feb 2006 - Robobat and Autodesk, Inc today announced the immediate availability of a free plug-in translator to the CIS/2 (CIMSteel Integration Standards/Version 2) protocol for Autodesk Revit Structure, the building information modeling (BIM) software for structural engineering. The CIS/2 translator will expand the ability for structural engineers, detailers and drafters using Autodesk Revit Structure to exchange data with other software applications and make it easier to create, manage and share structural building designs and analyses. BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING Autodesk Revit Structure uses a single building information model to support concurrent modeling for structural design, analysis and documentation and has bidirectional links to industry-leading third-party analysis tools including ROBOT Millennium. With the addition of Robobat CIS/2 plug-in module, Revit Structure building model information can be taken downstream to applications which can import the CIS/2 file format, such as steel detailing applications.
