Colortrac Establish New Scanner Manufacturing Company In China

St. Ives, Cambridge, UK 8th December 2005 - Following a tremendously successful first year with the SmartLF range of large format scanners, Colortrac Ltd, now the market leader in entry-level CIS technology scanners, have announced their expansion of their business with the formation of a new Chinese subsidiary, Colortrac Imaging Systems (Suzhou) Co., Ltd.

On 6th December 2005, Colortrac Ltd, the UK parent company, were granted a Business Licence by the Chinese authorities approving the formation of Colortrac Imaging Systems (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. The new company will source components and produce electro-mechanical assemblies for export to the UK where they will be combined with UK-manufactured electronics and software to produce finished scanners for sale world-wide.

Colortrac Managing Director Graham Tinn says, "Colortrac Suzhou is a key element of our growth strategy as we seek to expand manufacturing capacity for the tremendously successful SmartLF large format scanner line based on CIS technology which was launched in September 2004 and in our preparations for major new product launches in the first half of 2006. Also, the formation of the new company will enable Colortrac to fully control all its manufacturing activities, reduce production costs and ensure product quality for our customers."

Colortrac Imaging Systems (Suzhou) Co., Ltd is 100% owned by Colortrac Ltd and is established as a Wholly Foreign Owned Enterprise (WFOE). Colortrac SZ has been formed in Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP), a large special development area about 80Km outside Shanghai.

The new company will be led by Beijing based Dong Jian Ping, (JP), with day-to-day local management provided by general manager, Zuo Jian Jun. JP was formerly general manager of Colortrac's Beijing office and he will continue to be responsible for managing Colortrac's hugely successful China distributor TsingHua Unisplendour Ltd., who, since 1999, have established Colortrac as the market leader for large format scanners in the PRC.
