Kentucky's Largest Water Company Chooses MWH Soft ArcGIS-Centric Technology to Support Large-Scale Geospatial Modeling Efforts
Louisville Water Company Looks to InfoWater Suite for Greater Efficiency and Productivity
Broomfield, Colorado USA, June 8, 2005 - MWH Soft, a leading global provider of environmental and water resources applications software, today announced that following a competitive review, Louisville Water Company (LWC), the State of Kentucky's largest water company, has selected MWH Soft's InfoWater Suite and its platinum subscription program to build its system-wide hydraulic model. With a long-standing tradition of pioneering GIS success, LWC plans to use the industry's premier ArcGIS-centric (ESRI, Redlands, California) water distribution modeling, management and optimization software in tandem with other corporate information systems to efficiently manage, maintain and operate its drinking water infrastructure and deliver added value to the entire organization. The scalable technology platform will help provide for future growth and expansion.
LWC is a publicly owned, privately operated agency serving about 810,000 residents of Louisville Metro and parts of Oldham and Bullitt Counties via a complex network of nearly 3,600 miles of water mains. Its decision to switch to InfoWater followed an extensive evaluation of four leading GIS-based water modeling software packages that included hands-on presentations by vendor representatives to the LWC's engineering, planning, GIS and operations departments.
"As this news indicates, InfoWater continues to be a rousing success," said Paul H. Hsiung, PE, Senior Client Service Manager for MWH Soft. "MWH Soft geospatial technology consistently enjoys great popularity and high praise from utilities and engineering consultants worldwide. These professionals are finding they can dramatically improve the detail and complexity of their enterprise GIS-based modeling projects using our software. As a result, we're consistently selected by top water utilities, and enjoy an unprecedented record of successful implementation and customer satisfaction. We're pleased that leading water companies like LWC are recognizing the unmatched functionality and geocentric capabilities of our software. Our goal will always be to provide our customers with solutions that create the ultimate modeling experience."
MWH Soft InfoWater advanced geocentric technology has a strong history of helping utilities significantly improve productivity, accelerate project completion cycles, enhance quality, ensure data consistency, and promote collaboration across engineering, planning and GIS teams. With water utilities under tremendous pressure to deliver increasingly complex engineering projects on time and under budget, the software's innovative network modeling technology is proving invaluable. Because it addresses every facet of utility infrastructure management, optimization and protection, InfoWater allows utilities to increase profitability and efficiency throughout all stages of a project. By automating key planning and design engineering tasks, the Suite helps water utilities conceive and evaluate various scenarios; pinpoint system deficiencies; and determine the most cost-effective improvements to achieve optimum performance and regulatory compliance, meet new security challenges, provide better services, and forge closer ties with their customers.
"Louisville Water Company is one of the world's most forward-thinking water agencies and a leader in enterprise GIS implementation," said Paul
F. Boulos, Ph.D, President and COO of MWH Soft. "We are thrilled to partner with LWC in the successful implementation of geocentric hydraulic modeling applications designed to support their enterprise-wide GIS modeling and help them manage their water infrastructure at maximum savings, and we look forward to a long and vital collaboration."
