CAD Schroer Showcases Powerful, Integrated Drafting Support for Pro/ENGINEER® at 2005 PTC/User World Event
Moers, Germany and Orlando, Florida - June 6, 2005 - This year in Orlando, Pro/ENGINEER users will find out how to maximize the value of existing designs, add powerful drafting functionality to Pro/ENGINEER, and obviate the need for legacy systems for 2D data maintenance.
PTC Gold Software Partner CAD Schroer GmbH (CSG) will be demonstrating the latest release of STHENO/PRO®, a powerful drafting plug-in for Pro/ENGINEER.
"STHENO/PRO addresses the needs of all stakeholders in a Pro/E-centric environment," explains Mark Simpson, CAD Schroer's PLM. While most PTC customers have a firm 3D strategy, they inevitably need to maintain and augment existing 2D data - often in paper or legacy formats. In addition, designers often supplement Pro/DETAIL with legacy drafting packages to maintain and edit older designs.
"STHENO/PRO replaces the need for this two-tiered approach, and works hand-in-glove with Pro/E. It allows for the quick and easy creation of things like 2D concepts, layouts and tender designs, as well as 2D adaptations of Pro/DETAIL® sheets for product designs, technical manuals, and installation designs," adds Mark. STHENO/PRO also supports on-site mark-up of, and remote access to, designs.
Thomas Schubert, Managing Director of the German systems house, emphasizes that "CAD Schroer's mission is to help Pro/E customers unlock the value of existing CAD data, as well as make the most efficient use of the resources in their organisation." STHENO/PRO supports concurrent engineering, providing a design environment which allows drafting professionals to work the way they are used to, while at the same time replicating a familiar Pro/ENGINEER user interface.
STHENO/PRO runs as a plug-in for Pro/ENGINEER, fully integrated with Pro/DETAIL®, and offering Pro/INTRALINK® or Windchill® support. STHENO/IMAGE, a module for consolidation of legacy data, allows users to import stored paper drawings or other none-CAD data in the form of a raster image for use with the current design. Companies benefit from all the efficiency gains derived from the use of a single homogeneous database, and full support for a flexible systems strategy: CAD SchroerIs products are all multi-platform ready, running on SUN Solaris, HP-UX and Windows.
"No matter which corner of the globe you visit, design engineers have much in common: they need competent advice, backed by reliable, efficient, integrated tools that work the way engineers do - freeing, rather than restricting, creativity," Founding Director Michael Schroer concludes. "STHENO/PRO has captured the imagination of customers throughout the world, precipitating our move for further expansion, both in Europe and the United States. Our partners, as leaders in their field, share our passion for friendly and competent customer support, providing real added value to any systems implementation."
Mark, Thomas, and other members of the CAD Schroer team, will be on-hand in Orlando, at their PTC/User Silver Partner stand, from June 5-8, providing personalized demonstrations, tips and advice.
