SINOPEC SUBSIDIARIES ADOPT AVEVA's VANTAGE SOLUTIONS

Cambridge, England � May 3, 2005 - In a deal valued at over US$1 million, four of the top subsidiaries of the Sinopec Corporation have adopted engineering IT solutions from AVEVA (LSE:AVV), the international provider of solutions and services to the process, power and marine industries. Sinopec is China�s largest producer and marketer of oil products, the country�s leading supplier of major petrochemical products and the second largest crude oil producer in China.

The subsidiaries: Sinopec Engineering Incorporation, Sinopec Shanghai Engineering Corporation, Sinopec Luoyang Petrochemical Engineering Corporation. And the Sinopec Ningbo Engineering Corporation have signed contracts for a selection of AVEVA's VANTAGE solutions including engineering design solution (VPE P&ID and VPE Workbench), 2D/3D Comparator, the 'Project Resource Management' (VPRM) procurement solution and AVEVA's flagship: VANTAGE Plant Design Management System (PDMS).
