Westminster, CA. May 2, 2005. Noran Engineering, Inc. announced that its new CAD integrated NeiWorksT, a Nastran finite element analysis (FEA) product embedded in SolidWorksR 3D mechanical design software, has been admitted to the SolidWorks Solution Partner program. The designation is used by SolidWorks Corporation to identify software products that pass specific criteria for customer acceptance and entitle it to corporate marketing support programs.

Small and midsize companies have been looking for a way to realize the benefits of analysis software long used by major corporations' engineering departments. NeiWorks cost and ease-of-use give these companies access to the same Nastran FEA tools that are used by the leading industry practitioners in aerospace, automotive and maritime. Conversely, for many long time Nastran FE analysts in major corporations, NeiWorks' demonstration of a powerful geometry engine simplifying FE model creation will highlight many of the limiting aspects of conventional Pre/Post Processing. Moreover, NeiWorks' ability to share data with all Nastran users, like Nei, MSC or NX, will have an appeal to companies of all sizes. Large corporations will benefit by breaking down barriers between design and analysis departments thus appealing to the need to streamline, shorten and improve communication in global product development processes. Small companies will get a way to gain entry to and satisfy the requirements of larger, sophisticated customers, suppliers and partners using Nastran FEA.

CEO of Noran Engineering, Dave Weinberg, remarked " NeiWorks is a significant product for the SolidWorks user community and for established Nastran FE analysts because both gain mutually important benefits. Designers get access to NeiNastran, FE analysts get a truly integrated geometry kernel, and they both get a no barriers connection to each other." Brian Houle, Solution Partner Manager at SolidWorks, commented on the NeiWorks addition, "We're excited to welcome Noran Engineering as our most recent Solution Partner. Existing and future SolidWorks customers who are looking for Nastran analysis capabilities now have a powerful solution with NeiWorks which will help them get products to market faster."

NeiWorks has received recognition from NASA Tech Briefs magazine in its Product of the Year competition, along with Desktop Engineering magazine Editor's Pick feature for technology to watch.
