COE 2005 Annual PLM Conference Awards Outstanding Individuals, EnterprisesApril 14, 2005 - The COE 2005 Annual PLM Conference & TechniFair, took place March 20-23 in Phoenix, Arizona, and drew more than 1,200 members of the CATIA, ENOVIA, DELMIA, and SMARTEAM user communities to meet and discuss the future of IBM, Dassault Systemes, and their products. The technical program featured a customized mix of more than 150 training and educational sessions dedicated to the latest industry trends. It also included general sessions by top IBM and Dassault Systemes executives from around the world focusing on technological advancements for Dassault Systemes software products. Additionally, COE proudly awarded some unique industry recognition to some individual users and enterprises through the COE Top Gun XVIII, COE Award of Merit, COE College of Fellows, and COE PLM Enterprise of the Year Awards. Top Gun XVIII is a competition that allows the best of the best to compete in a design challenge using a standard CATIA V5 configuration. Results were based on quality, accuracy and time. The top finishers were: Roger Joyal, Airbus (1st place and three-time winner); Corey Ervay, Airbus (2nd place); and Dave Baldwin, IDEX Solutions (3rd place). The COE Award of Merit honors outstanding individuals from COE member companies, who have made valued, balanced contributions to COE professional activities and growth. The Award of Merit is conferred upon an individual - not the individuals company. The 2005 winner was Mark Van Horne of Boeing. The COE College of Fellows honors noteworthy achievements and contributions to CAD/CAM/CAE, specifically as they impact CATIA products. The 2005 winner was Michael Payne of Spatial. The COE PLM Enterprise of the Year award acknowledges COE member companies that have achieved significant business results through their organizations' adoption of product lifecycle management. It recognizes successful PLM implementations and serves as a model for fellow COE members and IBM and Dassault Systemes customers seeking to increase profitability by expanding their markets centered on new, innovative products, while reducing costs. The winners for 2005 are Loewen for Small/Medium Enterprise Award and Northrop Grumman Ship Systems for Large Enterprise Award. For over 20 years, COE has been the only international, professional organization uniting and supporting the users of Dassault Systemes software solutions. With more than 50,000 users in 400 member companies representing the aerospace, automotive, consumer goods, shipbuilding, industrial machinery, electronic, and plant design industries, there is no better support community available.
