Bentley Seminars Detail New 3E-Government Initiative
3E-Government Software Solutions Offer Improved Workflows, Information Sharing, and Web Publishing Solutions to Make Governments More Efficient
Denver - GITA's Annual Conference 28 - March 7, 2005 - Bentley Systems, Incorporated today announced a series of seminars that will detail 3E-Government, the company's initiative and related software that gives governments the ability to:
* Engineer with solutions tailored to the needs of each department
* Enable streamlined information sharing across departments
* Empower government and the public with quick, easy access to information through a Web browser
The seminars will focus on the needs of city managers, department heads, mayors and other elected officials, public safety professionals, mapping departments, GIS analysts, and environmental experts. They will also be of significant value to engineering firms that do work for government agencies.
The initial series of half-day 3E-Government seminars will be held in nine cities across the United States between March and June of this year. In addition, Bentley will host worldwide seminars beginning in April. A second series of seminars is scheduled for later in the year.
These seminars follow BE Meeting Prague 2005, where last week more than 350 representatives of cadastres, government agencies, local governments, utilities, and communication providers from Europe, the Middle East, North America, and Latin America gathered to discuss Bentley geospatial solutions.
The Benefits of 3E-Government
3E-Government helps government organizations operate more efficiently, reduce costs, and communicate more effectively, both internally and externally.
Bentley engineering solutions, based on MicroStation, provide public works departments with precise design tools for projects ranging from new public facilities to infrastructure design and management. They help water departments plan and lay out water networks, and provide them with network analysis tools to ensure optimal system design. In addition, design tools for those planning new roads and designing road maintenance projects are available, as are map creation and editing capabilities for cadastral information.
The solutions enable government operations by connecting the entire organization with Bentley's ProjectWise collaboration servers. Information can be shared from department to department - no matter what the data format. Even information in geospatial datastores such as Oracle Spatial 10g or ESRI's SDE is easily accessed through Bentley connector technology.
Finally, Bentley's solutions empower government and the public through quick, easy Web-based access to this entire collection of information. Citizens are empowered via the Internet, while departments and agencies are empowered through a secure intranet.
