Rasterex releases RxView R7 and RxHighlight R7

With Free Inventor®, SolidWorks® and Solid Edge® readers.

Oslo, Norway – February 14, 2005: Rasterex Software, a global leader in visualization and collaboration technology, today announced the release of version R7 of their popular family of viewing products for Windows.

RxView allows users to view & print more than 250 different file formats (2D & 3D CAD, plot-files, PDF files, Office documents, raster images etc.), without the need to have the expensive design software accessible to the user.

RxHighlight adds advanced functions like mark-up, file conversion and text search & extraction, for collaboration between team members.

Autodesk Inventor®, SolidWorks® and Solid Edge® readers included for free!

"With the rapid growth of mid-range 3D CAD software, we observe that engineers to an increasing degree use both 2D and 3D CAD in their design process" says Per Christian Lindstad, CEO at Rasterex Software. "As a leading provider of viewing technology for technical markets, we have addressed this issue. We are proud to present our version R7 as the only viewer on the market with support for all these three leading 3D packages- included at no extra cost!"

The most flexible (and cost effective) licensing on the market:

Rasterex has for many years been known for their flexible and cost effective licensing models. Using FLEXnet™ 10.0 from Macrovision®, version R7 takes it even further, and provides the customers with full freedom to choose the most cost effective alternative:

Individual licenses: License locked to each individual workstation

Static network licenses: A Network License which distributes a pool of licenses to designated users, up to the number of licenses purchased

Floating network licenses: A Network License which allows an unlimited number of users to "share" licenses on concurrent use basis, up to the number of licenses purchased

Terminal server licenses: A Network License which allows an unlimited number of users to "share" licenses on concurrent use basis, up to the number of licenses purchased

R7 comes with License Borrowing:

New in R7 is the ability to borrow licenses from the pool of floating licenses. A user can borrow a license for off-site work, and check it back in again upon return.

RxView R7 can read mark-up:

RxView is now equipped with reading abilities for mark-ups and comments created by RxHighlight. For example, a customer can set up a network license with a few RxHighlight licenses (for users with the rights to create and modify the mark-up) and a different number of RxView licenses (for users who only need to see the mark-up).

RxHighlight R7 can save mark-up as RML:

In R7, mark-up can be saved as RML (Autodesk’s standard "Redline Markup Language"). Using AutoCAD’s RML-IN function, the mark-up can become a separate vector layer in AutoCAD – fully editable and modifiable - and can even be merged into the DWG drawing.

Updated Format Support in R7:
