ProSTEP iViP Symposium 2005 Creating Collaborative Environments

Darmstadt, 12 February 2005 Collaboration within a single company and between different companies must be flexible, effective and secure. It is not only the continual development of new communication technologies that demands flexible strategies but also the product development process itself. One challenge, for example, is the integration of the various development domains software, electrical equipment, electronics and mechanics. Global corporations consider understanding and mastering complex environments and the integration of different disciplines as the most important factors influencing their success. The manufacturing industry worldwide intends to create solutions that are based on a collaborative effort and which will make the most of existing and potential synergies.

The 7th ProSTEP iViP Symposium is being held on April 20 and 21, 2005, at the Ludwig Erhard Haus in Berlin. The ProSTEP iViP Association, together with the symposiums host, Siemens AG, would like to invite you to join what is sure to be a lively discussion of strategies at the symposium under the motto

Creating Collaborative Environments:

Scalable - Effective - Secure

New and efficient means of collaboration both within the boundaries of a single company and across corporate borders can be created through the use of harmonized procedures and processes. The symposiums program of events includes lectures that present possible approaches as well as workshops that offer a platform for exchanging ideas and discussing requirements.

Dr. Bernhard Nottbeck, Vice President Corporate Technology at Siemens AG, will open the two-day symposium. A total of 24 presentations and five workshops will provide those attending with an opportunity to obtain a wide variety of information on new projects and solutions. The accompanying exhibition, which provides numerous software companies and business consultants with an ideal platform for presenting themselves, will also be the venue for stimulating discussions and an exchange of know-how and experience already gained. Invited speakers representatives of both industry and research institutions round off the program of events. As the representative of this years sponsor, Mr. Martin Jetter, Leader Business Consulting Services, Central Europe, General Manager IBM Deutschland GmbH, will bring the symposium to a close.
