Quakertown, PA, January 18, 2005 - Synergis Software, a leader in engineering document management, today announced the launch of its 2005 Document Management Educational Speaker Series. Its objective is to help decision makers at varying levels of the organization-including users, CAD managers, IT managers, and executives-to understand how to achieve greater success through the use of document management software. Specifically, document management software can benefit an Engineering department's rapid work-in-progress environment and an organization's greater business needs to share and access mission critical data across departments and locations. Industry experts and customers in a range of industries will discuss common challenges and provide strategies and systems processes that ensure a successful implementation with document management.

The first two scheduled web casts in the 2005 Document Management Speaker Series are:

Managing Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks and Other Related Engineering Files Across the Organization (January 27, 2005 at 1:30pm EST) - This web cast, co-hosted by CADALYST Columnist Robert Green, is especially designed for people using 3D modeling software, who want to find solutions for managing parts, assemblies, 2D drawings, and related engineering documents within a CAD workgroup and with other departments throughout the organization. Mr. Green will discuss the challenges inherent with managing 3D files: Why manual file management can result in costly errors, and when it makes sense to justify an electronic document control system.

Data Management Nuts & Bolts (February 23, 2005 1:30pm EST) - This web cast, hosted by Synergis Software's Director of Research & Development Todd Cummings, is geared toward technical and IT personnel who want to understand the specific technological considerations of implementing a data management system, including vaulting, network configuration options, data legacy migration strategies, Internet access, and integration with Autodesk and SolidWorks design software and related engineering data within a controlled document management environment.
