GRAPHISOFT U.S. ANNOUNCES ARCHICAD RESIDENTIAL

New Solution Based on the Premiere Virtual Building Model Designed to Address Specific Needs of Residential Design and Construction

Newton, Mass. – January 18, 2005 – Graphisoft, Inc. today unveiled ArchiCAD Residential, a new suite of applications designed to address the specific needs of designers and architects in the U.S. home-builder market. Based on ArchiCAD’s virtual building modeling technology, ArchiCAD Residential enables more accurate communication between architect and homeowner and allows faster manipulation of design changes.

"Home builders and designers in the U.S. have tended to create standard house plans that must then be revised to meet the individual needs of their customers. With ArchiCAD Residential, architects can easily meet client specifications for design elements, from garage size and basement type to roof style and the materials used in the structure. Among the key tools available in the ArchiCAD Residential line of offerings are Option Manager, Wall Framing, Key Notes and 3D Profiler:

• Option Manager – Makes it possible to create and manage overlapping options and allows variations of the project to be shown with one click of the mouse. The software coordinates design changes automatically and simplifies the communication of design options to the client.

• Wall Framing – Simplifies timber wall framing by automatically creating frames for all required walls and then scheduling each for construction.

• Key Notes – Delivers an easy-to-use and easy-to-maintain database of notes, allowing efficient and accurate annotating of drawings in less time than with other tools.

• 3D Profiler – Enables shapes to be developed through a range of points and saved for future use with full editing control.

Pricing for Graphisoft ArchiCAD Residential starts at $3,950 U.S. and will initially be available for Windows only. The product set is scheduled for availability in the first quarter of 2005.
