City of Veszprém to use Graphisoft ArchiFM solution in "Open Local Government for the Citizens" Program

Budapest, 17^th January 2005. – Graphisoft announces a joint project within the Co-operation Agreement between Graphisoft^® and HP Hungary for the implementation of an ArchiFM^® 8.1 System to support the property management activities at the municipality office of the City of Veszprém, Western Hungary.

The Municipality of the Hungarian city of Veszprém was awarded EU funding for IT development projects in 2004, along with five other Hungarian municipalities. Following a US$2.5 million open tender, HP was selected as the main contractor, along with Graphisoft as one of its sub-contractors, for the delivery of a comprehensive IT solution. The purpose of the development envisaged was to create an integrated IT system to facilitate the daily administrative servicing of Veszprém’s inhabitants and support the internal working procedures of the Municipality’s employees. "The ultimate winner in this project will be the general public as the Administration will definitely become simpler and more effective," stated the Hungarian Ministry of Informatics and Communications. Graphisoft’s German Facilities Management Director Wolfgang Reinecke explained that this deal marks a trend in Graphisoft’s relationship with HP: "The tender win marks a further success for our cooperation with HP".

Graphisoft’s Facility Management solution, the ArchiFM 8.1 product series, will be used to support the management of properties under the local government’s auspices, including property-related administration, operation and building management functions.

HP Hungary and Graphisoft’s joint project is expected to be deployed and go live early in January, 2006. "We are pleased to have the opportunity to work with HP on yet another long-term project with great prospects for the future", confirmed Reinecke. He was confident that the services rendered to Veszprém will set a precedent for future administrative projects. "Many other local governments, regionally, could realize the same benefits as will Veszprém in such a solutions tie-up," he said.
