BE Award Winner McCormick Taylor Named One of the Best Places to Work in Pennsylvania

Exton, Pa. - November 22, 2004 - For the fifth consecutive year, the Great Place to Work Institute has named McCormick Taylor, a leading consulting firm offering engineering, planning, environmental, and communications and management services, one of the best places to work in Pennsylvania.

This recognition, one facet of which is "supporting professional development and showing appreciation," underscores again McCormick Taylor's commitment to training that won it a BE Award earlier this year for "Well-Trained Organization." The BE Awards of Excellence honor the extraordinary work of Bentley users improving the world's infrastructure.

The basis of its BE Award was McCormick Taylor's use of the Enterprise Training Subscription (ETS) program from the Bentley Institute. As a better way to keep professionals well trained, a Bentley ETS can increase productivity and profits, help retain employees, improve collaboration with partners, and enhance business agility.

Robert C. Donacki, information technology coordinator for McCormick Taylor, credits ETS with the ease and speed of the firm's recent conversion from AutoCAD to Bentley products. As Donacki explains, "ETS is a flexible and economic approach that has given our employees more confidence in getting up to speed. With e-training, they were able to sit at their desks on the actual equipment they'd be using day in and day out. They gained experience in our offices using the same products and equipment they will be using in the future, and we lost very little time."

The ETS program offers user organizations convenient, unlimited professional training on Bentley software products for a fixed annual fee. Unlimited access to courses maximizes training opportunities and streamlines administration, while the annual term simplifies budgeting and accounting. With ETS, labs and lectures can be delivered in a classroom, remotely, or through self-paced learning.

The ETS enabled McCormick Taylor to adapt and streamline its design process during the conversion - which was completed within a year - while still keeping projects moving. Employees trained at their own speed and convenience. The fixed cost eliminated any surprise training costs at year's end.

The firm continues to benefit from the knowledge gained through ETS. For example, McCormick Taylor's new employees can attend online Bentley training classes starting from their first day on the job. "This allows them to get up to speed with existing employees, which, in turn, helps us meet tight project deadlines," says Donacki.
