Houston, TX - October 4, 2004 - AVEVA Group plc (LSE:AVV), the leading provider of plant engineering lifecycle solutions, today announced that Gulf Interstate Engineering Company (Gulf) has signed a comprehensive framework agreement with AVEVA. This agreement provides a wide range of technical and engineering IT software and services that will augment Gulf's ability to provide project management, engineering, material and construction management for hydrocarbon transportation systems, from the wellhead to the export terminal.
AVEVA will provide Gulf with engineering IT consulting, application and discipline-related support, software development and training on an as-needed basis for its VANTAGE suite of plant design and project management solutions. The agreement expands Gulf's current usage of VANTAGE Plant Design Management System (PDMS), VANTAGE Plant Engineering P&ID (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and VANTAGE Project Resource Management (VPRM) solutions. Gulf's service agreement with AVEVA is an indefinite delivery/quantity convention exercised through individual work orders.
"Gulf has recently experienced a general business upswing in new hydrocarbon projects," commented Robert J. Sprick, Vice-President of Business Development for Gulf. "These projects have a high materials content, so it is critical that Gulf is able to buy the right materials at the right time, track the status and submit change orders in a controlled manner. AVEVA's solutions give us this capability and the agreement ensures that Gulf can tap into AVEVA's expertise when it needs to, to successfully execute these projects."
"AVEVA is proud to be a partner in our customers' success," said Nick Dunlop, Executive Vice President of AVEVA Inc. "By providing top-quality service and solutions, we help our clients significantly reduce the total installed cost of projects where a single percentage represents a massive saving."
