San Jose, CA. September 30, 2004. GEOMATE Company announces the latest release of GrafiCalc pre-modeling analysis software incorporating several industry-first technologies. GrafiCalc version 4.0 is powerful software that enables users to take an up-front result driven approach to solving design challenges prior to committing to more expensive modeling, analysis, and manufacturing steps. While post-modeling FEA shows how designs fail, GrafiCalc 4.0 is positioned to help users to make sure up-front that designs will perform optimally the very first time.
GrafiCalc 4.0 combines the disciplines of sketching and calculating in a single software application. With GrafiCalc 4.0, users can bi-directionally associate geometry, dimensions, and calculations in a flexible model that captures the functional intents of a design challenge. Then users can change input or output conditions to ask and receive instantaneous design decision-support information and solutions. Best of all, since the challenges and their solutions are electronically stored within GrafiCalc intent models, the knowledge can be shared and re-used for solving similar challenges without reinventing the wheel each time.
GrafiCalc 4.0 also incorporates groundbreaking behavioral modeling technology that allows users to start by specifying calculated or measured values such as area, centroid location, clearance, cost, deflection, distance, length, section-properties, tolerance, travel, volume, weight etc., as desired design target and have the computer “backsolve” exact geometry to satisfy the stated objective - using just four mouse-clicks!
GrafiCalc 4.0 also includes industry-first programmable geometrical calculator that enables users to setup libraries of frequently used geometry-synchronous calculations that can be subsequently reused or shared amongst other members of the design team.
GrafiCalc is Windows standard 32-bit self-contained application that can be used completely standalone. A 2-way DXF translator built within GrafiCalc allows users to import and export geometry to use GrafiCalc as an extension to all popular CAD and solid modeling applications. Built-in dynamic data exchange (DDE) facility allows users to bi-directionally link GrafiCalc with Excel. Users can also print drawings conforming to ANSI and ISO standard size directly from
GrafiCalc.
