iF product design awards 2004 winners use OneSpace Designer

Sindelfingen, September 14, 2004 – CoCreate Software GmbH & Co. KG, a leading provider of CAD and collaborative product development software, announced that 23 winners in the prestigious iF design award 2004 competition designed their entries with CoCreate’s OneSpace Designer Modeling 3D CAD software.
A total of 1458 contestants from 32 countries competed for the coveted iF seal of design quality in the iF design award 2004 competition. An international jury of experts scrutinized the entries for excellence. “Designers have obtained a growing influence as early as the product development stage,” said jurist Torsten Fritze of Studio & Partners, Milan, Italy. This was apparent in the products selected for iF design awards, the consensus of the jury being that function combined with good design continues to define excellence.
In the product design discipline, outstanding winners selected for the top Gold and Silver awards included CoCreate’s OneSpace Designer Modeling customers Leica and Festo.
Leica won a Gold award with their elegant new LEICA D-LUX digital camera. Judges praised Leica’s successful integration of classic design and modern digital technology.
Winning Silver was Festo’s hand lever valve, VHER, ideal for manual and direct control of pneumatic drives. Its innovative design and functionality such as the lockable hand lever, sensor fittings for position detection, and variable direction connectivity impressed the judges.
The iF seal of design quality finalists included Canon, Giesecke & Devrient, Yokogawa, BenQ, Zoller, Oventrop, Oce´ Seiko Epson, Festool and Fill—all of whom designed their entries with OneSpace Designer Modeling.
