17 June 2004 - Autodesk, the worlds leading design software and digital content company, is inviting entries to this years Autodesk Inventor Design Contest. Now in its third year, the contest is an opportunity for all customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa to showcase products designed using Autodesk Inventor Series.

This years contest is co-sponsored by HP and the winners will be presented with HP iPAQ personal digital assistants.

According to Neil Dunsmuir, Autodesk Manufacturing Solutions Division marketing manager: The variety and diversity of the Autodesk Inventor series means that many of our customers have created impressive designs across a range of different vertical sectors. The judges will be looking at the aesthetic appeal of the design, the technical use of the software and the accompanying description of how Autodesk Inventor is being used across the company.

To enter, customers are invited to submit a screenshot, model, drawing or animation of one or more of their designs. Entries are welcome from those working in all areas of mechanical design - from machinery to consumer products and both small parts and large assemblies.

Dunsmuir says that following the success of last years contest with over 200 entries, Autodesk is expecting significant interest. Last years winning designs can be viewed at the Autodesk Inventor Design Gallery at <http://inventordesigngallery.autodesk.com> .

The contest closes on 31 August 2004 and further details can be found at www.autodesk.co.uk/inventor-contest
