IMSI Acquires Sole Retail Distribution Rights for DesignCAD

Expanded Rights Solidify Position as the #1 Consumer CAD Publisher

NOVATO, Calif., May 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- IMSI(R) (BULLETIN BOARD: IMSI) , a leading developer and republisher of visual content, precision design, and graphics software, today announced that it has acquired the sole retail distribution rights for the DesignCAD and Instant Product line from Upperspace, effective immediately.

Under the original terms of IMSI's purchase of some of the Upperspace product line in July 2003, Upperspace retained certain retail channel distribution rights including; Navarre, CompUSA, Fry's Electronics and other retail stores. Under the terms of the new agreement, IMSI has now will be the sole supplier of this sales channel. "Due to the successful product launch and sales of the Upperspace products over the last nine months, IMSI has decided to purchase all retail channel distribution rights to these products," said Gordon Landies President of IMSI. "We are very pleased with the sales of DesignCAD and the Instant Product line, which includes Instant Architect, Instant Engineer, Instant Shed & Shop and Instant Deck Designer. So much so that we purchased the remaining distribution rights," added Landies.

IMSI will now be the exclusive publisher and distributor of the Upperspace CAD and Design Products worldwide. "We are very excited about this final part of the acquisition as we will be shipping several new Instant products along with a new version of DesignCAD early this summer," stated Bob Mayer Executive Vice President of the Precision Design Division. "The additional DesignCAD and Instant products solidifies our position as the #1 consumer CAD publisher for the retail market," added Mayer.
