Enersource Hydro Mississauga Adopts Intergraph's Next-Generation Technology for Electric Utilities

Unprecedented openness of Intergraph's G/Electric makes electric geofacilities information directly available to corporate systems and users in tightly integrated environment

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - April 14, 2004 - Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions today announced Enersource Hydro Mississauga is upgrading Intergraph's successful FRAMME-based AM/FM/GIS to G/Electric, Intergraph's next-generation geofacilities management solution for electric utilities. Enersource maintains and operates a 10,000 km electrical network serving 175,000 customers in Mississauga, Ontario. G/Electric provides an open architecture that will give Enersource Hydro Mississauga the flexibility and opportunity to integrate geospatial data with other business-critical systems.

According to Wally Curry, Chief Information Officer, Enersource Hydro Mississauga, "Our FRAMME-based system served us well for approximately 15 years, during which time we increased our ability to serve customers while decreasing operational costs. With G/Electric's open architecture, we can extend our integration capabilities and enterprise data access, making it the logical next strategic component of our future information infrastructure."

The system upgrade to G/Electric includes migration of the company's extensive electric facility network and the existing interface between FRAMME and Advantica Stoner's SynerGEE(R) Electric analysis software for distribution system analysis and optimization.
