FILENET MANUFACTURING PARTNERSHIP STRENGTHENS MCLAREN'S LEAD IN ENGINEERING DOCUMENT MANAGEMENT APPLICATIONS

20th January 2004 - McLaren Software has today announced a strategic partnership with FileNet Corporation (Nasdaq: FILE), the leading provider of Enterprise Content Management solutions. The agreement forms the first Independent Software Vendor (ISV) program in FileNet's new asset and plant lifecycle management initiative, which was launched this week at daratech Plant2004.

The agreement will provide FileNet customers with access to McLaren's configurable out-of-box engineering document management applications, which are used to accelerate processes associated with engineering documents and drawings while reducing the risk around the use of this valuable and complex information. McLaren Enterprise Engineer applications are quick to deploy and are designed to meet the business requirements of companies in the process manufacturing, utilities and construction sectors.

"We have seen a growing demand for out-of-the-box content management applications within the process manufacturing sector as companies demand faster returns on investment and greater flexibility to manage process change. McLaren has established a strong foothold in this marketplace with McLaren Enterprise Engineer and this latest move to the FileNet platform further validates the strength of its product range," commented Monica Schnitger, Senior VP of Market Analysis, Daratech, Inc.

"Today's announcement is a key milestone for McLaren as it confirms our position as the leading engineering document management application vendor with availability on the three leading industry platforms. We believe that the electronic document management market is now mature, and that moving to a product based approach to deliver industry-focused application is a logical and very well received next step in the evolution of this technology sector. This announcement will enable more companies to drive efficiencies and reduce business risk from our software's capabilities," added Paul Muir, CEO, McLaren Software.
