HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Archway Systems, Inc., developer and marketer of design software solutions including VersaCAD computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software, today announces that it is shipping its latest offering, VersaCAD 2003.9 for Windows, to all VersaCAD Premium Service subscribers, and it is available for sale now. The exciting new release of industry-pioneering VersaCAD offers new features and increased interoperability with other software via incorporation of the latest release from OpenDwg Alliance.

The new translator, which includes batch operation, is directly accessible from within VersaCAD 2003.9's File menu. It converts VersaCAD files to or from popular formats such as DXF, DWG and IGES either as single files or in hundreds of file batches.

The new translator even converts from among varying versions of DWG or DXF, and includes functionality to "cleanup" common corruption in dwg files as it converts from one dwg release to another dwg or dxf release. This new function makes VersaCAD 2003.9 for Windows useful as a dwg viewer, converter or cleanup program.

Other new features include new ways to edit some geometry, updated Windows Help, and new built-in video tutorials for new users to learn VersaCAD or existing users to learn the new features in a very short time.

"VersaCAD 2003.9 for Windows continues our careful migration of VersaCAD to full Windows compliance without sacrificing any of the product's traditional productivity features," says Mike Lazear, president and CTO of Archway Systems. "Plus, we have augmented our translation capability to address the stated needs of our users and improve interoperability with other industry standard software products."

One user comments: "I just want you to know Archway has done a great job," from Dave Lattan, Prairie Farms Dairy. "Keep up the great work! I have been a VersaCAD user since 1983," Sue Sullivan. "VersaCAD is and always has been the best drafting program available. Keep up the good work," says Paul Picone, systems administrator, Kim & Shiroma.

VersaCAD is used internationally throughout professional and educational CADD communities for robust yet easy-to-do product and architectural designs that export seamlessly into most computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) systems and can be printed directly to create blueprints for manufacture or construction.
