Autodesk Announces the AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT Global Customer Council

Introducing the Autodesk Batch Drawing Converter 2004 for streamlined cross-version drawing collaboration and to ease customers' migration to the AutoCAD 2004 products

AUSTRALIA - August 21, 2003 Autodesk, Inc., (Nasdaq: ADSK) the world's leading design and digital content creation company, today announced the formation of the AutoCAD� and AutoCAD LT� Global Customer Council to provide valuable customer input into the development of Autodesk's horizontal solutions and services, and to ensure that customer needs are not only fulfilled but exceeded in future product releases.

The company also announced the availability of the Autodesk Batch Drawing Converter 2004, a tool that allows users of the AutoCAD 2004 family of products to convert any AutoCAD DWG drawing file to a DWG file format used by earlier AutoCAD releases and for users of earlier versions of the software to convert to AutoCAD 2004, facilitating cross-version collaboration as well as migration to AutoCAD 2004-based software.

Global Customer Council to align product development with customer needs The AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT Global Customer Council (GCC) is an advisory committee consisting of 60 global users from the building design and construction, manufacturing design, mapping, civil engineering, and infrastructure design professions in Europe, Asia and North and South America. The group will evaluate Autodesk's product plans and strategies for AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT software in all applicable markets.

The GCC's insights will help Autodesk define customer needs and requirements for current and future products, including product enhancements, extensibility and interoperability features.

The Autodesk Batch Drawing Converter 2004 As an additional proof of its commitment to improving customer experience, Autodesk provides a series of tools designed to make it easier for customers to migrate to the following products: AutoCAD� 2004 AutoCAD LT� 2004 Autodesk� Architectural Desktop 2004 Autodesk� Building Systems 2004 AutoCAD� Mechanical 2004, Autodesk Map(tm) 2004 Autodesk� Land Desktop 2004

The latest tool in this series is an updated version of the Autodesk Batch Drawing Converter, used to streamline drawing exchange between users of different versions of AutoCAD-based software. This tool allows both AutoCAD 2004 product users to convert any AutoCAD drawing file to AutoCAD� Release 14, AutoCAD� 2000and AutoCAD� 2004 DWG file formats, and earlier product version users to convert to the new AutoCAD 2004 drawing format. The AutoCAD 2000 DWG file format is used by AutoCAD 2000, AutoCAD 2000i and AutoCAD 2002.
