This groundbreaking module makes it possible to reverse model and engineer solid models from point clouds and polygon meshes. For the first time, engineers, designers and others can scan an object in 3D and create a true CAD solid quickly and easily inside one application.

* Mesh region segmentation and intuitive quadric and freeform surface extraction

* Surface patches to solid model conversion with intelligent trimming and merging operations

* Solid and freeform surface hybrid modeling

* Solid modeling operations such as Boolean and filleting

* Imported CAD data feature recognition for advanced inspection planning

The RapidForm Feature workbench is compatible with every major CAD system, including CATIA, Pro/ENGINEER, Unigraphics, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Mechanical Desktop and many others, with support for standard (IGES, STEP: Solid B-rep Entity) and proprietary file formats that guarantees seamless data transfers. In addition, RapidForm can also be tightly integrated with other CAD systems using a Windows�� OLE-based API (Application Programming Interface) to bidirectionally interface model data.
