HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - August 18, 2003 - Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions today announced the successful rollout of its InService(TM) Outage Management System (OMS) at Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB). KUB provides electric, gas, water and wastewater services to more than 370,000 customers in Knoxville, Tennessee, and the seven surrounding counties. The new OMS is fully operational in the dispatch office and on 25 mobile units in the field for electric trouble, which has enabled KUB to shut down its legacy OMS. In addition, KUB has successfully deployed an interface between InService and the PeopleSoft Customer Information System. InService provides a seamless environment for dispatch, mobile computing, scheduling, crew management and outage management. According to John Gresham, Manager of KUB System Operations, "KUB can now improve communication of outage and critical system events to our own personnel and better communicate service restoration status to our electric customers." According to Arthur Spencer, Executive Vice President, Utilities & Communications division, Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions, "The InService OMS enables KUB to improve service reliability, increase productivity and streamline work processes. We appreciate their confidence in our outage and mobile workforce management solutions, and we are pleased to continue our long-term technology partnership with KUB."
