Anhui Jianghuai Automotive Purchases Solid Edge as its Mainstream Computer-Aided Design Software System

Powerful modeling ability, seamless integration with EDS' Unigraphics� NX and customized 2D drafting with national industry standards cited in selection

PLANO, Texas - 24 July 2003 - EDS today announced the selection of its Solid Edge� computer-aided design (CAD) software by Anhui Jianghuai Automotive Co. Ltd. (JAC), a Chinese automotive chassis supplier based in Hefei, the capital city of the Anhui province.

Jianghuai Automotive, a listed joint venture company on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, licensed 30 seats of Solid Edge as the first step to replace its 2D CAD applications. The company plans to implement as many as 90 additional licenses of Solid Edge in the next two phases of its migration to 3D solid modeling. Solid Edge will be used to design automotive chassis parts and accessories as well as molds and tooling.

Jianghuai Automotive also cited the customization capabilities and strong local support from United Digital Systems Co. (UDS), a master reseller of Solid Edge in China. "UDS provided a large measure of confidence that Solid Edge was the right product to move even more of our 2D systems to 3D."
