Quickparts.com Unveils The QuickQuote Instant Quoting Plug-in for Autodesk Inventor

Atlanta, GA, May 16, 2003 - Quickparts.com, Inc., the premier supplier of rapid prototypes and build-to-order plastic and metal production parts, unveiled its new QuickQuote� Instant Quoting Plug-in for the Autodesk Inventor� Modeling Environment this week at the 2003 Rapid Prototyping & Manufacturing Show in Chicago, IL.

The QuickQuote Plug-in for Inventor enables users to generate instant price quotes for the manufacture of their part as a Rapid Prototype (SLA, SLS, FDM) or Cast Urethane Production Prototype from directly within the 3D CAD environment. As the user selects the manufacturing process, material, finish, and quantity, a unique price quote is instantly presented. The user can then do unlimited �what-if� scenarios to optimize the price.

"While we currently offer Instant Online Quotes through Quickparts.com and �No Upload� Instant Quotes through MyQuote, our desktop application, we are constantly looking to make it easier for our customers," commented Dr. Ronald L. Hollis, President and CEO of Quickparts.com. "The QuickQuote Plug-in for Inventor is a significant step forward in the deployment of our instant quoting technology. No longer are users tasked with converting CAD models to STL format. We are making every effort to streamline the quoting process."

With the QuickQuote Instant Quoting Plug-in, the Inventor user is in complete control of the quoting process. Only when the user selects the �Buy Your Part� button are the files transmitted over a secure connection to the Quickparts servers. From there, the user can complete the order or choose to email, print, or save the quote. The entire process takes about 60 seconds.

The QuickQuote Instant Quoting Plug-in for Autodesk Inventor is currently in the beta testing phase. The planned general release date is June 15, 2003.
