NavisWorks Announces The Release Of A Major New Version
Sheffield, UK, 30th April 2003: NavisWorks Ltd., developers of interactive viewing technology and the leading 3D computer aided design review solution today announced its latest major release. NavisWorks3 introduces significant enhancements that will aid improvements in design understanding and quality. Delivering the flexibility and Freedom that allows everyone to quickly view and walkthrough 3D CAD models in real time; NavisWorks3 offers interactive visualization and interference checking without the need for a CAD system. NavisWorks3 maximizes the increased productivity and resulting production efficiency offered by 3D design software. Communicating design intent to improve understanding and effective single model based team working is simple with NavisWorks3 regardless of file size or format. Peter Thompson, Managing Director of NavisWorks Ltd. Described NavisWorks3 as "evolution not revolution" but continued "We have spent a long time consulting those who use 3D design software and those without design software who could benefit from its use and easy access to the model output. NavisWorks3 satisfies their needs in a way that no other product can. Along with significant product restructuring and enhancements in functionality that includes the introduction of photorealistic output, we are also introducing Freedom, a free viewer for NavisWorks3 .NWD files." NavisWorks3 moves to a scaleable plug-in architecture with the entry level Roamer3 at its core. Additional functionality, to publish secure and compact review files, add materials, textures and lights to existing 3D models and detect clashes is delivered in a range of plug-in components. The core Roamer3 is fully compatible with the most popular 3D design file formats, including the latest versions of AutoCAD 2004, Inventor 7, MicroStation v8, ArchiCAD 8 and Solid Edge R14, opening them quickly for walkthrough and review of geometry, object information and materials. Peter Thompson concluded the launch announcement, "NavisWorks3 complements and adds significant value to any 3D design software investment. Using NavisWorks3 can revolutionize the design review process to improve and differentiate design services and deliverables to win more business. Using NavisWorks3 to navigate and examine the design is effortless; the review process is compressed, whilst the number of people that can participate is unlimited. Tedious manual tasks, with the accompanying risk of human error, can be eliminated to significantly reduce the serious consequences of incomplete, inaccurate and poorly coordinated production information. NavisWorks3 offers more effective design time during which problems are found and resolved but also delivers benefit beyond design and value following production." About NavisWorks NavisWorks Ltd.
