Haestad Methods Unfolds Services Department to Align for New OpportunitiesHaestad Methods System Integration Services Department Creates Customized Software for Clients with GEMS(TM) Technology
WATERBURY, Conn., April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Haestad Methods announced an expansion into new market segments with the creation of its System Integration Services Department. This action is in recognition of emerging system integration and customized software opportunities that have been presented to Haestad Methods in such fields as water resources, defense, electricity, and security. For 25 years, Haestad Methods has been recognized as the leading provider of hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software. Combining the company's passion for providing top-notch engineering services with its proven GEMS (Geographic Engineering Modeling System) and WaterObjects(TM) customization technology, this new department is poised for significant growth. Originally used by Haestad Methods' research and development team to create WaterCAD(R) V6 and WaterGEMSTM V1, WaterObjects is an object-oriented application software development kit (SDK). WaterObjects provides programmatic access to the features of the modeling software, enabling end users and third- party developers to build, access, and modify model databases to suit application-specific needs. Early adopters of GEMS-based technology are already taking advantage of Haestad Methods' services to develop custom extensions specialized around their particular needs. Some of these prominent organizations include The Municipality of Chatham-Kent, Canada; the City of Salamanca, Mexico; the City of Tucson, Arizona; Salt Lake City, Utah; and Bristol Babcock. Dean Trammel, Senior Engineering Associate for the City of Tucson commented, "The customized software tools that Haestad Methods' Services Department created for us were great. It has saved us time and streamlined some of our regular tasks in our Geographic Engineering Modeling System." "The benefit of using Haestad Methods' GEMS and WaterObjects' technology is a greater comfort level achieved by using a unique architecture that has been tried and tested, and integrates well with existing CAD and GIS systems," said Sasa Tomic PhD., Director of the System Integration Services Department for Haestad Methods. "Our technology is back-end independent, allowing us to offer a wide variety of modeling and system integration services across many market segments." Some of the key responsibilities of the Systems Integration Services Department include: - - Planning, designing, and implementing customized software applications - - Bringing complex technologies together to maximize compatibility and interoperability - - Integrating legacy management systems for CAD, SCADA, GIS, ERP, and engineering modeling systems packages - - Utilizing WaterObjects technology to customize WaterCAD and WaterGEMS software - - Developing GIS/CAD interoperability - - Providing ongoing systems and applications management and maintenance.
