Alibre PhotoRender Add-on is LWA-EnabledAccess to LightWorks LWA format gives users better images faster.
22 April 2003 - LightWork Design and Alibre Inc. announce that the recently released Alibre PhotoRender Industrial Pack is LWA-Enabled - giving users access to a wide range of real-world materials and light studio plug-ins, available from www.lightworks-user.com. Alibre PhotoRender Industrial Pack, from Alibre Inc., is an upgrade to Alibre PhotoRender that gives users increased realism, ease-of-use and productivity when creating high quality rendered images. The LightWorks Archive (LWA) format gives designers and engineers access to high quality, real-world materials and other visual elements, for increasing the realism of rendered images and helping them to make accurate design and styling choices. Downloadable LWA files currently include: * Light studios for instant lighting set-ups * A wide range of metals, plastics, leathers and woods * Exclusive Mold-Tech surface finishes, used in the design of molded plastic parts * Industry standard color libraries for accurately specifying colors for design and manufacture Using its LWA-Enabled functionality, users can extend the power of Alibre PhotoRender Industrial Pack by adding new materials, light studios, colors and other visual elements, to help them create better images faster. The LWA format is a secure digital format, for use in LWA-Enabled CAD applications, which allows manufacturers and material suppliers to accurately encode the visual characteristics of their products, so that designers can accurately select and specify these products during the design, modelling and styling processes. Greg Milliken, Vice President of Marketing for Alibre Inc., said, "Giving our users access to the valuable LWA format is an important element of the complete rendering solution that we get from LightWork Design. The LWA-Enabled Alibre PhotoRender Industrial Pack module gives our users extra power, ease-of-use and productivity." Woll Newall, Product Manager for LightWork Design, added, "Easy-to-use, real-world rendering, forms a vital part of today's design and digital prototyping design processes. We are pleased that Alibre Inc. has included LWA-Enabled functionality in Alibre PhotoRender Industrial Pack as part of their aim of providing affordable tools that improve design quality and shorten manufacturing cycles." About LightWork Design LightWork Design is the world's leading supplier of rendering solutions for developers of advanced 3D computer graphics software. Established in 1989, LightWork Design has continually developed LightWorks to provide customers with innovative and market-focused solutions for the creation of powerful and easy-to-use rendering applications. Renowned for its physically accurate visualization of real-world objects and environments, LightWorks is the ideal choice for applications targeted at the AEC, Industrial and Graphics markets. LightWorks is supplied as a complete solution which includes the SDK, support, training and consultancy services, to give customers fast and efficient access to leading-edge rendering technology, resulting in shorter development cycles, faster time-to-market for new products, and lower software development costs. LightWorks is embedded in over 70 software applications and used by more than million users worldwide, far more than any other renderer. Applications that incorporate LightWorks include: Alibre Design from Alibre, ArchiTrend from Fukui Computer, CDRS, Pro/DESKTOP and Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire from PTC, Cobalt from Ashlar, Configura and InstantPlanner from Configura Sverige AB, DigiD from Nihon Unisys, Form-Z from auto-des-sys, IX Design from ImpactXoft, Madric from CPU, MSC.visualNastran from MSC Software, Presenter 3D from Digital Immersion, Power Shape from Delcam, SolidWorks from Dassault, SolidThinking from Gestel, ThinkReal from Think3, trueSpace from Caligari, Unigraphics NX from EDS, and products from many other major CAD vendors. About Alibre Alibre redefines professional solid modeling with the low-cost Alibre Design application for 3D parametric solid modeling. Alibre Design lets designers, engineers and their associates create 3D models and 2D associative drawings, and its integrated online tools let users share and edit product designs from different CAD applications, and collaborate in real time using precise design data. These tools also allow for advanced support and training directly from the online Alibre Assistant. Additionally, the application's support for open data standards such as STEP provides a CAD-neutral environment. Founded in 1997, Alibre Inc. is privately funded and based in Richardson, Texas.
