TTI Releases Acc-u-Trans Version 5Provides CAD Users Expanded 3D Interoperability, Cuts Collaborative Design Time, Speeds Product to Market
SPOKANE, Wash., April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Translation Technologies Inc. (TTI) today simplified the 3D data exchange process with the release of Version 5 of its Acc-u-Trans software. Significant benefits of this new release include the ability to translate between additional CAD systems, the addition of an in-process feature verification tool, selective integration of B-Rep geometry translations, and an improved integrated software module that provides powerful post-process accuracy verification. Used by engineering and manufacturing companies that need to exchange modeling data between various computer-aided design (CAD) systems, TTI's patent-pending software provides parametric, feature-based and fully modifiable CAD translations. "This comprehensive release provides aggressive new functionality to TTI's licensed software users," stated Robert Stevenson, TTI's president and CEO. "Acc-u-Trans Version 5 offers a greater ability to streamline data exchange between multiple CAD systems, improved assurance of data quality in the target CAD system, and the ability for users to integrate their geometry-only translation software with TTI's feature-based translation software." According to Stevenson, these new capabilities can make designers and engineers more productive, and their companies more competitive in their markets. TTI's Interactive Model Exchange: A Repository for Model Intelligence TTI's software extracts all source model intelligence, including such things as associativity, constraints, assembly hierarchy, etc. This data is stored in TTI's repository for model intelligence, called the Interactive Modeling Exchange format, or IMX. Using the IMX format as a launchpad, Acc-u-Trans users can rebuild an intelligent, modifiable model in any system that TTI translates between in a fraction of the time it would take to remaster the model. The end product is a parametric feature-based and fully modifiable model rebuilt in the specified target CAD system. New Acc-u-Trans V5 Features and Enhancements Defined 1. Expanded CAD systems: The addition of SolidWorks Corporation's SolidWorks and the forthcoming addition of Dassault Systemes' CATIA version 5 bring the total number of CAD systems TTI translates between to six. This includes Dassault Systemes' CATIA v4, PTC's Pro/ENGINEER, EDS PLM Solutions' Unigraphics and I-deas. 2. Feature Creation Analysis (FCA) Option: This new in-process feature verification tool complements the existing post-process analysis tool by verifying the accuracy of each feature as it is created. Enabled by an optional user setting, the FCA capability can identify geometric discrepancies between source and target features early in the history tree, minimizing the impact of these discrepancies on dependent features downstream, thereby reducing overall translation and repair time. 3. Selective Integration of Geometry Translations: Acc-u-Trans now offers a preference setting that allows users to integrate existing B-Rep translators with Acc-u-Trans' full feature and history tree translator. This offers users the ability to specify what parts in an assembly are to be translated using Acc-u-Trans feature-based native translations and what parts are to be translated through an existing B-Rep geometry only translator. Initially designed to be compatible with Core Technologie's Trans3D, this feature has also been designed to allow integration with other geometry-only translators. 4. Improved accuracy verification: TTI's Mirror Model Comparator (MMC) is a post-process proprietary geometry verification system that is integrated into TTI's software. The MMC ensures high-level translation accuracy. Updates include: - - 2-way Analysis: Initially developed to run in forward mode, which extracts analysis data from the source model and compares it to the target model, the MMC can now also run in reverse mode, which extracts analysis data from the target model and compares it to the source model. - - 3rd Party Translation Verification: Although a module of TTI's software, the MMC also has the ability to verify the accuracy of models not translated using Acc-u-Trans, regardless of the means used to conduct the translation. 5. Additional Enhancements: - - Interrupt filtering for selected feature types - - Better tree linearization for translating to Pro/E and SolidWorks from CATIA V4 About TTI Translation Technologies, Inc. provides an advanced technology solution to MCAD interoperability problems. TTI's patent-pending software allows companies to effectively communicate complex, highly precise designs between SolidWorks Corporations' SolidWorks, PTC's Pro/ENGINEER, Dassault Systemes' CATIA, and EDS' Unigraphics and I-deas complete with full feature history in the target file. The company's software is available for on-site licensing or through its outsourced service model.
