FileCourier Solves Email Size Barriers
RICHMOND HILL, ON, April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- CanDo Networks Corporation has launched a new service called FileCourier(TM) that removes email attachment size limits. "FileCourier lets you send any size file," said Stan Kaethler, CanDo's Director of Marketing, "the only restriction is your hard drive space and your connection speed. You can send gigabytes if you want." FileCourier helps people transfer large files, including sound, video or photo files, as well as business files like databases, CAD drawings, and multimedia presentations. It's available to any high-speed Internet user. Email goes through public servers that simply don't have the resources to deliver large attachments. These large emails get bounced back, delayed, or even lost completely. "With FileCourier, you still send your emails with your usual software, but FileCourier handles the attachments," Kaethler said. "We have our own dedicated secure servers to transfer the file attachments, so we don't have the size restrictions that email servers do." This system makes FileCourier a paradigm breaking combination of both desktop software and web service. "To send your files, you need to install the FileCourier software on your PC and register for the service," Kaethler said. "Recipients don't need the software, and they don't need to register with us. They just need a browser and Internet access - they can get your file attachments from anywhere across the web." Unlike traditional software, FileCourier doesn't require an up-front purchase. And unlike typical Internet services, it doesn't charge a monthly subscription fee. "People don't want to pay for something they might not use, so we've adopted a pay-per-use system for FileCourier. It's just like buying stamps - you can buy a couple at a time or a whole book at once," said Kaethler. "We offer a free trial to start, with no obligation to buy more postage until you want to send more files. It costs just 2 cents per megabyte to send a file to someone." FileCourier also combats traditional email's lack of privacy. Email text and attachments can be read by any public server that routes it, and they often cache copies of your files that remain behind. Now senders can keep control of their attachments by using FileCourier's private servers to transfer their attachments securely. "FileCourier transfers your files using SSL encryption - the same encryption used to safeguard credit card purchases on the web," according to Kaethler. "With FileCourier, only the sender and the receiver can view the file. No data is lost in cyberspace, and our servers never store or cache a copy of your file."
