German Multinational Firm to Implement Graphisoft ArchiFMClose to 1.5 million m2 real estate to be managed by Graphisofts FM solutionBudapest, April 3, 2003 Graphisoft, developer of the Virtual Building concept, today announced that the production and management buildings of the Friedhelm Loh Group based in Haiger, Germany will be managed by the internationally leading CAFM system ArchiFM. After six months testing of different facility management systems, the Friedhelm Loh Group chose Graphisofts product. The current focus of implementing ArchiFM is the area management of the production and management buildings. The facilities use can significantly be optimized after the initial integrated data input of building plans in ArchiFM, due to the excellent overview of the buildings utilization Graphisofts FM-solution provides. "We have to work with frequently changing production lines", said Jrg Schumann from the Department Buildings, Environment and Security of the Friedhelm Loh Group, and responsible for the test-phase. "ArchiFM allows the optimal utilization of machines, facilities and spaces. The direct external access to the data through SQL enables us to calculate the exploitation of our production space and initiate a change from overloaded to vacant space." For the international group with about 10,000 employees worldwide, the opportunity to decentralized utilization was even more convincing. No matter of their working place, authorized employees can access and process all saved data via the companys intranet with ArchiFM WebServer. "The easy and remote access to facility management information was a key factor in our decision for ArchiFM," Jrg Schumann stated. In the near future the software will also be deployed in the subsidiaries of the Friedhelm Loh Group in further fields of facility management like cleaning management, expense allocation and IT planning, as well as real estate management. The Friedhelm Loh Group includes different production companies on three continents, employing over 10,000 people worldwide.
