Bentley BIM Seminars Registered with the AIA

Attendees Earn AIA/CES Learning Units; Seminars Featured at Select Bentley World Tour Cities and the Bentley International User Conference

Exton, PA March 31, 2003 Bentley Systems, Incorporated today announced that the American Institute of Architects (AIA) has registered the companys Building Information Modeling (BIM) seminars. AIA members are eligible to earn two AIA/CES Learning Units when they attend any Bentley BIM seminar.

Seminars are being held at select Bentley World Tour locations and will be featured during the Bentley International User Conference in May. Other locations and times are also available.

Each seminar covers how BIM addresses both graphical and non-graphical information essential to the design, construction, and operation of a building. BIM addresses all five levels of user needs: creating/accessing/analyzing building information, sharing that information with others, ensuring that information is synchronized among participants, enabling everyone in the building lifecycle to work on the information in their professional context, and keeping all building information and the inherent intellectual property secure.

Bentley supports this hierarchy of needs in a BIM strategy through 20 enabling technologies that are already available in MicroStationand its collaboration servers. These technologies enable users to achieve a managed environment for building projects and operations. Bentley offers a unique ramp to BIM so users can realize BIM via evolution rather than revolution.

Visiting more than 70 cities, the V8 Generation World Tour has already made more than 40 stops and attracted more than 4,000 attendees. Looking ahead, BIM seminars will be hosted in the following cities in connection with Bentley World Tour events:

  • April 2 Dallas, Texas
  • April 8 Scottsdale, Arizona
  • April 10 Novi, Michigan
  • April 16 Washington, D.C., and New Orleans, Louisiana

To be eligible for learning units, AIA members attending World Tour events can submit their AIA membership number at the time of on-site registration. Non-members may request and receive a certificate of completion for finishing the course. Groups and organizations can also request an onsite Bentley BIM seminar.

The World Tour culminates at the Bentley International User Conference, May 18-22, 2003, in Baltimore, Md. More information on the World Tour can be found at www.v8worldtour.com.
