Samsung SDS and Practical Programs Combine ForcesWednesday, March 05, 2003 - Practical Programs has just signed a worldwide agreement with Samsung SDS, Worldwide Solution Provider. The alliance allows Practical Programs to combine Samsung's advanced viewing and analysis tools, WiseVIEW into DataViewer, the company's flagship program.DataViewer is an innovative Drawing and Document Management Solution distributed in over fourteen countries. The integration of Samsung's technology gives DataViewer the ability to quickly compare two 3D objects and detect differences. Correspondingly, DataViewer complements Samsung's viewing and analysis technology with powerful management and security features. WiseVIEW is a visualization tool to support direct interface with the leading 2D/3D CAD data, document, and image files, and it has lots of advanced functionalities including Markup, Measuring, Section viewing, and Collaboration, Practical Programs CEO Richard Bates said the newly released DataViewer X, about to be unveiled at CeBIT, employed Samsung's advanced viewing and analysis tools to allow critical comparison of 3D objects to detect differences in single parts or complex assemblies. "This feature links into a pre-manufacturing approval process to either confirm alterations or detect errors before production. It can also assist with parts and assembly management." Other important functions of the program include Workflow, Web Interface, an Audit Trail, and support for the leading databases. The program features a link that automatically updates database information when alterations are made to designs. "It also facilitates easier tracking of documents and can prevent the creation of drawings outside of the management system," Mr Bates said. DataViewer X will now offer support for most of the leading 3D modelling programs including Inventor, SolidWorks, Catia, Pro-E and many others. Practical Programs was established in 1996 to commercialise software developed by its parent company Scan Conversions P/L. The company has a worldwide market for its products that provide superior solutions to Drawing Management; Product Life Cycle Management; Document Management; and Document Distribution. Samsung SDS was established in 1985 and was ranked 45th among the 500 top global S/W companies according to a US S/W Magazine survey last August. Based on expertise and technical capability, SDS has developed multiple package software that meet international standards and provide optimal solutions. www.practicalprograms.com.au
