PTC and Thomas Register Launch Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire Component Portal 

Millions of Thomas Register's Computer Aided Design (CAD) Drawings and Models Now Available Within Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire

"NATIONAL MANUFACTURING WEEK," Chicago, March 4, 2003 -- PTC (Nasdaq: PMTC), the product development companyTM, and Thomas Register, the world's most comprehensive information resource for supply-chain sourcing and purchasing, today announced the availability of CADRegister within Pro/ENGINEER.

CADRegister.com, an online resource provided by Thomas Register, will now be accessible from within PTC's Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire product design and development software. The relationship expands product designer access to millions of CADRegister's computer-aided design drawings and models, helping engineers and designers increase the speed of the product development process.

Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire is the new version of PTC's industry-leading product design and development software and a key component of the company's breakthrough integral product development system. CADRegister is an online library of millions of CAD 2-D drawings and 3-D models, with technical data from over 250 leading manufacturers.

The next generation portal will provide product designers with native Pro/ENGINEER models based on PTC's Granite One interoperability kernel. To support this initiative, Thomas Register has licensed Granite. The portal features a seamless drag and drop integration, leveraging the Web services supported by Wildfire. It also helps users reduce the amount of time they spend searching for standard component data or creating standard components for their product models.
