HUNTSVILLE, Ala., March 3, 2003 - Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions Denmark today announced that Ostkraft Net A/S signed a contract for the implementation and deployment of an electric facility information management system based on Intergraph's G/Electric solution, an enabling technology for integrated Geospatial Resource Management (GRM). Ostkraft Net A/S distributes electricity to the entire population of Bonholm, Denmark's easternmost island in the Baltic Sea.

Initially, Ostkraft will use G/Electric to integrate critical workflows for planning, design, geospatial analysis, operations, and maintenance and to fully utilize geospatial data throughout the organization. Enterprise system integration and data access will reduce administration costs and manual processes. Future implementation phases will link geospatial data to the plant cost accounting and controlling processes, enabling external partners to gain access to the geospatial data, thus dramatically shortening the design process.

Egon Olsson, IT manager, Ostkraft, noted that the commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) nature and open architecture of G/Electric will support the organization's continued growth, as well as allow Ostkraft to take advantage of new market opportunities. "With G/Electric, we will be able to customize the workflows to accommodate future needs in-house, eliminating expensive system administration costs. For example, G/Electric's open architecture will make it easy to integrate geospatially related analytical applications. Additionally, the anticipated efficiency G/Electric brings to our asset and facility management processes strongly positions Ostkraft to respond to market opportunities for providing managed services to other utility companies."

"With the liberalization of the Danish utility market, it has never been more important to operate an efficient utility network," said Jakob Konig, sales manager, Utilities & Communications Division, Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions, Nordic region. "G/Electric, a COTS-based solution that addresses geofacilities management in a scaleable, flexible, and open manner, offers a customer-driven approach to support this process."
