Intergraph Hong Kong Ltd. Awarded Contract for G/Gas by The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited

Intergraph's COTS-based Geofacilities Management System for gas distribution to streamline work processes and integrate with key corporate systems

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Feb. 27, 2003 - Intergraph Mapping and Geospatial Solutions Hong Kong Ltd. Today announced that The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (HKCG), also known as Towngas, has awarded Intergraph a contract to upgrade its existing FRAMME-based AM/FM/GIS application to G/Gas, Intergraph's next-generation geofacilities management solution based on gas distribution industry best practices. The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited provides gas and services to more than 1.4 million customers throughout Hong Kong.

G/Gas will provide HKCG with the core-enabling technology for a Geospatial Resource Management environment, in which pre-integrated solutions help streamline day-to-day activities that maintain the service delivery network. G/Gas is based on standard, non-proprietary programming tools and represents commercial, off-the-shelf software (COTS). These characteristics facilitate systems integration and set the stage for ongoing application extensions and easy maintenance and upgrades, thereby supporting HKCG in maintaining the system long term.

The centrally located system will also serve users located at remote sites. Intergraph Hong Kong Ltd. Will provide data conversion, migration, set up, and installation service for the project. The project is on a fast-track schedule, with completion anticipated within 12 months.
