More Than 40 Applications Gain Autodesk Inventor 6 Certification47 Companies Worldwide participate in the Autodesk Inventor Certified Applications Program
SAN RAFAEL, California, February 26, 2003-Autodesk, Inc., the world's leading design software and digital content company, today announced that more than 40 applications have met Autodesk's requirements for receiving Autodesk Inventor(r) 6 software certification. In addition to re-certifying 34 applications from the previous release, the Autodesk Inventor Certified Application Program (AICAP) includes eight new applications in areas such as process design, part libraries, HVAC design, and data management. One more component added to the certification requirement is better user interface integration. Many Autodesk Inventor Certified Application partners and resellers will be demonstrating their solutions at the Autodesk Partner Pavilion (Booth #5901) at the National Design and Engineering Show (NDES) next week in Chicago. They include Ansys, Avatech Solutions, Blue Ridge Numerics, Cyco Software, Elysium, Gibbs and Associates, StormMaker, SofTech, and Synergis Technologies. "Our customers value the certification because it assures them that our CFDesign application works seamlessly with Autodesk Inventor software," said Len Whitehead, CFDesign product manager at Blue Ridge Numerics, Inc. "By combining the 3D modeling capabilities of Autodesk Inventor software with the advanced flow simulation tools of CFDesign, we are able to offer our customers a complete solution for complex fluid flow and heat transfer problems." AspenTeams from AspenTech, Inc., is the first certified application from a partner that is focused exclusively on process industries. AspenTeams is a tool for the complete mechanical design and rating of shell and tube heat exchangers and basic pressure vessels. Using a combination parameter driven parts and dynamically created parts, AspenTeams assembles a complete and detailed Autodesk Inventor model based on input parameters and regional standards. "In evaluating which 3D CAD systems we wanted to support, we chose Autodesk Inventor because it presented the best migration path for the majority of our customers who use AutoCAD software," said Jack Schneider, heat transfer products development manager at AspenTech. "With each release of Autodesk Inventor software we are expanding the number of certified applications. In addition, we are now beginning to evaluate more niche vertical market applications where Autodesk Inventor software solves critical design challenges such as hull design for shipbuilders," said Richard Runnells, solutions development manager for Autodesk's Manufacturing Solutions Division. Certified applications have met standards set by Autodesk to ensure robustness, quality, and the highest level of interoperability with the company's award-winning Autodesk Inventor 3D mechanical design system. The program delivers a complete manufacturing solution that helps accelerate product development cycles and shorten their time to market with a variety of applications across all areas of manufacturing worldwide.
