Graphisoft US Increases North American Marketshare in 2002ArchiCAD's Building Information Modeling System Achieves Rapid Success
NEWTON, Mass., Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Graphisoft US, developer of the Virtual Building(TM) concept, today announced that the Company continues to show positive momentum heading into 2003. Bolstered by the release of ArchiCAD(R) 8 and a very successful 90-city road show in the fourth quarter of 2002, Graphisoft outperformed its 2001 revenue numbers despite the economy's continued downward trend. In addition to its successes in the United States, Graphisoft achieved revenue growth of 4.1 percent worldwide in the fourth quarter of 2002 from the same period of the previous year. Graphisoft US continues to gain market share for the industry's leading Building Information Modeling system, Graphisoft ArchiCAD, as the Company added more than 150 new architectural, engineering and construction (A/E/C) firms to its client roster. Sales of Graphisoft's facility management solutions also grew in 2002 with revenue for that segment increasing 25 percent. "Building professionals, architects and engineers increasingly expect more from their design technology," said Chris Barron, vice president, architecture, at Graphisoft US. "The success we experienced in 2002 points to the fact that ArchiCAD's Building Information Modeling system is delivering real productivity enhancements that traditional 2D applications simply fail to offer." Graphisoft's seminar series across North America introduced hundreds of A/E/C professionals to Graphisoft ArchiCAD 8, the Company's newest 3D model- based design software. ArchiCAD 8 enables architects to develop comprehensive building models easily and manage the architectural workflow from conceptual design to construction documentation more seamlessly and efficiently than ever before. Customer feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many participants affirming the Building Information Modeling concept. "At a time when all other CAD software developers are just coming to grips with the concept of the single building model, created by intelligent, parametric objects, Graphisoft is delivering a state-of-the-art design solution that extends our ability to create, communicate, collaborate, and produce," said Monte J. Chapin of 2Dcubed, a Utah-based company that provides design collaboration services. "That consistent vision of virtual building simulation, innovated by Graphisoft for the past 20 years, is the benchmark all other CAD programs can only hope to achieve. It all translates to qualitatively better design decisions through decreased omissions and errors, and increased productivity and profitability." About Graphisoft Graphisoft(R) is a leading provider of design and management software solutions for the architectural profession and the building industry. Founded in 1982, Graphisoft is ranked today among the largest AEC CAD software developers in the world, with ten offices worldwide in addition to its Budapest headquarters.
