Walmart.com to Sell LindowsOS As First Standalone Non-Microsoft Operating System

Retail Giant Also to Sell LindowsOS MP3.com Edition Computers

SAN DIEGO, Feb. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Lindows.com, Inc. announced today that Walmart has chosen LindowsOS as their first standalone operating system, not made by Microsoft, to be sold on their retail website, walmart.com. Walmart.com has also added a new line of LindowsOS MP3.com Edition computers

MP3.com's musicologists were commissioned to comb through the more than 1.6 million song library at MP3.com and select the greatest tracks from the more than 250,000 artists who have music on the MP3.com web site. From their selections emerged twelve CDs worth of quality songs for any musical taste, including songs from bands like MxPx, Jucifer, and Agent 51. All of these songs are neatly catalogued and pre-loaded onto the hard drive in LindowsOS MP3.com Edition. Rather than limiting digital rights management formats, every song is stored in the consumer friendly MP3 format. 

In addition to more than one hundred digital songs, LindowsOS MP3.com Edition tracks are permanently stored on the user's hard drive. Users are not subjected to restrictive listening terms, the songs are permanently a part of the user's music library unless the user chooses otherwise.
